The Big 2-3

Sunday I turned 23.  I feel the same as I did on Saturday when I was a mere 22.  I actually still feel the same as I did when I was in high school.  I’m still immature, I just go to work now instead of go to school.  Hopefully, I can say that ten years from now.

My birthday was wonderful.  I didn’t do anything too exciting, but it was nice and relaxing.  T and I slept in.  He made me two fried eggs that were cooked perfectly and a bowl of Golden Grahams (actually Honey Squares-we’re cheap).  Then we layed around for the first part of the day.  We watched a movie:  Enron-The Smartest Guys in the Room.  It was pretty good.  Enron was based in Houston, so it’s nice to have more knowledge about what really went down.  I’ve heard that you can even take an “Enron” tour through Houston.  Sweet.  After the movie, we mustered up enough energy to take Hurley to the dog park.  On the way there (actually 20 minutes out of the way) we stopped at a Dairy Queen!  I got a hot fudge sundae, T got a Strawberry Cheesecake Blizzard, and we got Hurley a little cup of vanilla ice cream.  He loved it.  The dog park was fun.  Hurley was a swimming machine.  He’s the world’s smallest retriever.  He looks like a drowned rat after he swims.  After we returned to the dog park, we went and ate dinner at McCormik & Schmick’s Seafood Restaurant.  It was a pretty cool restaurant with decent food.  The booth that we sat in was like a private room with a curtain that you could close.  *Cue porno music*  Just kidding!  I had crab cakes and T had steak since he doesn’t like seafood.  Here’s the menu with my birthday on it!

Then we came home and that was the end of my birthday celebration.  It was a nice, relaxing, fattening, lazy day.  I got a bunch of sweet cards from the residents at work and one even made me a delisious birthday cake with cute little flowers all over it!  I’m glad that T got to be here for my birthday before he heads off to Africa; which will most likely be sometime this week!  Yikes!  I had T take a picture of  me on my birthday.  Me at 23.  I think when I’m 80, I’ll create a time lapse video of pictures of me on my birthday.  That would be scary but awesome.

Talking about scary:

Me at 23

I know Mom, it’s a horrible picture of me.  But I really wanted a representation of me on my birthday.  For my children to look back on someday.  Hi kids!  Mommy loves you.

Hope you all have a wonderful week!  Don’t take life too seriously.

PS.  Happy birthday Grandma.  I know you don’t read my blog or know how to use a computer, but thought I’d just throw it out there.
